Who is the Artist?

Born in Le Havre in 1972,Vincent Gibeauxis a self-taught painter who began his artistic career by making abstract ink drawings during his adolescence that he himself called "fillings" and imaginary calligraphies. Gibeaux has developed over time adetailed universethanks to the Rotring pens used for industrial design. Little by little he integrates acrylic colour into his work which becomes more and morefigurative.

In recent years, his work has taken on an increasingly narrative dimension, integrating collages, humorous motifs andfantastic elementssuch as strange animals, giant robots and trees populated by birds. His paintings are characterized by an impeccable attention to detail, both in the drawing and in thecoloring, with an often incandescent representation that captures the viewer's attention.

Influenced by the theory ofAlfred Hitchcockthat every shot of a film should tell something, Vincent Gibeaux tries totell a storyin every little plot of his paintings. Art critics such as Luis Porquet have praised Gibeaux's works for their attention to detail, vibrant color, and incredible sense of detail that shines through in each of his creations.
