Civic Museum – Villa Comunale Roberto Bassi Rathgeb Abano Terme – Via Appia Monterosso, 52
Inauguration Saturday 10 June at 18.00
The personal exhibition of Franco Anselmi will be inaugurated on 10 June at 18.00 in the halls of the Museum of Villa Bassi in via Appia Monterosso 52 in Abano Terme.
Eclectic painter, born in 1950, he graduated in Sociology and languages at the University of Urbino. A great art lover, he ventured into painting at a very young age, experimenting with very personal techniques that give his painting an unmistakable "signature", which, combined with very intense cultural contents, make him immediately in demand in the most well-known cultural circles on an international level.
Difficult to frame Anselmi's painting in a well-defined "genre", in fact he ranges between cubism and abstraction, combining references to dynamic painting with Byzantinisms underlined by decorations that in turn recall Art-decò; his animals, especially the horses, are always restless on the verge of galloping off, while his enigmatic and persuasive women observe you in fascination.
The exhibition in question will offer many different works in terms of themes and dating as well as his now legendary sculptures representing historiated pyramids that bring us back to déjà-vu of distant times.
