The new works by the artist Bra I'm a triumph of fluorescent colors and wink at pop art : orange, acid green, blue and fuchsia are just some of the nuances chosen by the Paduan artist to create the new project "ACID" , which collects canvases that are sometimes embellished also from the skilful use of glitter .
A real turning point compared to the production of recent years, which had favored decidedly darker colors, such as those of the solo works “Variations” of 2017 curated by Philippe Daverio and Dominique Stella. However, the commitment does not change research of materials : each canvas , from those of large size up to the formats 40x50cm , was made with a complex process, which goes through several phases and culminates with the resin and hot polishing.
Among the subjects developed details of large cities such as New York, a series of animals and female faces , one of the Venetian artist's favorite lines of artistic research. Even in these new women's faces, the will to pay homage to beauty remains without the need for captivating backgrounds, thus bringing out the clarity of the stroke and artistic intention.
“ The choice of these so bright, so vital colors was born as a reaction to the gloomy period we have lived through. The pandemic has forced us into the house, it has dyed our days gray . The search for color was a natural impulse that I decided to indulge and explore. Even the glitter, which completes and defines the details of some subjects, was chosen for its illuminating and playful function”, explains Bra.
