LA HABANA, LA PERLA E L’OMBRA IN MOSTRA A LIGNANO

HABANA, THE PEARL AND THE SHADOW ON SHOW IN LIGNANO

From 10 to 30 June – Havana in black and white by Claudio Mainardi, a photographic diary

In the evocative setting of Terrazza Mare in Lignano, on Friday 10 June (from 19.00 to 23.30 - free admission), with a themed evening based on music, cocktails and Cuban cigars, the exhibition of the Venetian photographer Claudio Mainardi , born in 1947, will be inaugurated With about 150 black and white shots, taken in different sessions between 2002 and 2013, the exhibition proposes a diary in images in the fragile and fascinating Cuban capital, recounting the daily life of the people of Cuba in a realistic style but with a loving gaze. 'Havana. Far from the famous, more monumental and rhetorical places, Mainardi moved "up and down the four cardinal places of the city, its four ghosts held together by the Malecón: the port, the colonial city, the center and the Vedado", in the discovery of a city which – in the words of the curator Carlo Silvestrin – “has bewitched and subjugated him, amazed and moved him, made him reflect and return. [...] A fine observer, with his shots, sometimes discreet and sometimes cheeky, he manages to involve the viewer by sending him the desire to get to know this reality better, for better or for worse. A journey through everyday realities that well embody the spirit of this city and above all of its inhabitants.”

Sunday 26 June (starting at 21.00-free admission) for the closing of the exhibition, the Cuban musician Ernesttico and his group will perform in a Cuban jazz concert.
