" A LIFE IN THE SOUL", VITTORIA'S EXHIBITION ANDRETTA AT THE TORRESINO CHURCH OF CITTADELLA (PD) FROM 18 TO 26 FEBRUARY 2023.
From 18 to 26 February 2023, the Church of Torresino in Cittadella (PD) hosts A life inside the soul , a solo show by Vittoria Andretta, an eclectic Paduan artist with more than fifty years of career behind her. The exhibition, which offers about fifty works, presents an interesting anthological itinerary that follows the development of the creative path of an artist who has always proved to be receptive to the stimuli received from artist friends, travels and rich aesthetic and human experiences.
Over time, Vittoria Andretta has associated graphic studies with the experimentation of different expressive methods, from the figurative to the abstract, also tackling with great intensity issues related to the exploration of the female dimension . Among the most significant works within this research, there is undoubtedly one of his best known and most appreciated paintings, Female Problematic , on the theme of abortion, awarded in Milan in 1976. In addition to several oil canvases, the exhibition also offers watercolours, etchings, ceramics and screen-printed lithographs.
Part of the exhibition is then dedicated to the story of the study that Andretta has conducted, starting in 2016, on arched surfaces . An investigation that in 2019 was crowned by the registration of a patent, one of a kind, for the creation of pictorial works on surfaces curved, concave and convex. This phase of experimentation includes not only some sculptures, but also the interesting "semicircular horizons" , i.e. works, such as Semicircular horizontal landscape , created on canvas or on arched wooden tablets, painted on both sides and sometimes mounted on a mirror it amplifies its surface, creating the illusion of space continuity.
The exhibition is open to the public (free admission) on Tuesdays , Wednesdays and Thursdays from 15.30 to 19.00 . Friday , Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 15.30 to 19.00 . Closed on Mondays.
